Daniel, I wonder if your device needs a cell signal to get GPS. Or maybe it was just a bad day to pick up the GPS. How was the weather?

Also, they just updated the app, hours after I posted this review, so if you went out after I wrote it, you could have the newer version. I hate to think they'd require the ads to be active for it to work, but it could happen.

My device has trouble with GPS sometimes too, but it was working fine that day out in the cemetery. In fact, I'm having trouble with it right now just sitting in my house and I don't know why. It finds my location based on the network, which usually works very quickly at home, but something's going wrong tonight.

Sometimes technology is fickle.

I tried using Billion Graves on a recent trip. I was in an area where I had no signal. Billion Graves was basically non-functional while I had no signal. It's like the software got stuck trying to upload, and wouldn't do anything else. I eventually gave up on it. I took photos with my DSLR and will have to manually upload them another way.

I don't have RestingSpot yet, so I have no comments on it. I'll head over and check it out next.

Well, now you've made me try the search anyway. And it looks like I get results, but I still get an almost full screen window blocking the results and telling me to purchase the records view.

Okay - i see the link is new. for some reason, I knew about it weeks ago so I thought they had already done it. :-)
However, I bought a new cell phone yesterday and upon installing the app saw the notice for the $2.99 charge, but I am still able to search for free. What kind of phone do you have? I have now put it on a Samsung Fascinate and the Droid Razr and am able to search for free. Have you tried contacting BillionGraves support about the notice to upgrade?

Linking two photos in BillionGraves just happened yesterday, which was after I wrote the review. In fact, they posted it to their blog just a few hours after I posted this article.

I just updated the app and it still tells me I have to upgrade for $2.99 to view records, so that part hasn't changed.

Thank you for sharing your experiences using both apps. I agree that Brett and team are super responsive to feedback! However, you can link more than one photo together with the BillionGraves app and it does not cost money to search the records (whether you are using the app or the site). It would indeed be nice to be able to attach a note to a specific photo if needed with BillionGraves, but I bet they will add that over time. Thanks!

We appreciate the thoughtful and fair review, Banai. We have been hard at work on the items you've mentioned and are committed to making RestingSpot all it can be. Special thanks again to people like you for helping us get there. Your feedback and willingness to work with us is invaluable.
