I heard many stories over the years, and Sawnee was often the butt of family jokes. My question here is how did he go from being Black to Mulatto? I believe that Sawnee was a mixed blood and have heard that he was of Cherokee descent through his mother. Mulatto was used in Virginia to erase Indian heritage. From what I understood, Sawnee wasn't HAVING NONE OF IT, so yes, of course he "was crazy" and a conjuror and talked to the devil. He had quite a temper.
